How to re-register for free milk for your under-fives

If you have already tried to re-register, it is possible that your registration is incomplete for one of two reasons:

1. You might need to complete your registration by responding to the verification email you will have received from the NMRU – please check your Inbox or Junk Items and click on the verification link in the NMRU’s email and then complete the registration process (the email will be from [email protected] or [email protected]).

2. You may have selected the wrong supplier or stated that you are self-claiming when you actually use Cool Milk as your free milk provider – please log on to your NMRU account, select “Setting details” and check that “Your milk provider” is Cool Milk – if not, you must contact the NMRU directly and request that they change your agent to Cool Milk with effect from 01/09/16.

If you have not tried to re-register, please follow the steps below:
1. Go to the NMRU website at and click on the orange “Re-register” button in the top left-hand corner of the home page:
2. On the next page, you MUST select “Yes – I have previously claimed under the Nursery Milk Scheme and have an existing NMRU number”:
3. Then on the next page, please enter your existing NMRU number – this is shown in our previous correspondence about this matter:
4. Then just fill in your details on the screen – you’ll need to choose a user name and password – we suggest that you use your email address as your user name. Please ensure that your password is at least 10 digits long with at least one number and one letter.
5. Once you’ve finished that stage, you will receive an email (so please enter your email address very carefully when asked to do so, so that the email goes to the right place!).  Click on the link in the email to verify your identity, then you’ll need to finish the process by entering some more data – please ensure that you select Cool Milk as your current milk provider.

Once you have registered your first setting, you can add additional settings if required – simply log back in to your new NMRU online account and select “Register another setting” on the left-hand side of the screen.
