The free milk supplied to our customers for under-fives is currently funded by the Department of Health via the Nursery Milk Reimbursement Unit (NMRU). From Monday 26th September, all schools and childcare settings must re-register with the NMRU in order to continue receiving free milk for under-fives.
This is a simple online process that should take just a few minutes to complete.
Before you re-register
On the first page, you MUST select “Yes – I have previously claimed under the Nursery Milk Scheme and have an existing NMRU number”

During the re-registration process you will be asked for the following information:
- Your existing NMRU number
- Your Cool Milk Start Date
- Your current provider: Select ‘Cool Milk Ltd’
It is essential that the above information is entered correctly. If you are unsure of what your NMRU number and Cool Milk start date is, please contact us.
If you are a state school (including academies and free schools), when you are asked to enter Establishment/Provider type, please select ‘LEA School’, then when asked for your Certificate number please enter your 6-digit Ofsted URN.
Cool Milk’s service to our customers will not be affected provided that they promptly re-register with the NMRU.
